Invitation to the World Blogging Forum in Bucharest

I’ve been invited to join the World Blogging Forum 2009 in Bucharest as a VIP guest — and I’m really looking forward to meeting incredible web geeks from 30 countries. Heading for Romania next week and of course I’ll report about the event, here’s a short preview of the guest list and the topics.

Weekly Blogistan Round-Up no. 23/2009

Welcome to the weekly blog round-up — a lot has happened during the last seven days. Everybody was talking about Google Wave, and Loic Le Meur announced that Seesmic will soon release a browser-based version of their client.

CERN!"> Austria must not leave CERN!

The austrian minister of scientific affairs decision to leave CERN came as a total surprise: scientists are protesting — if you think that this decision is short-sighted too, then please go ahead and sign the petition!

G1: Android Insights"> T-Mobile G1: Android Insights

Does android dream of electric sheep? The T-Mobile G1 is the first phone on the Austrian market that runs Android, Googles open source OS for mobile devices. Here’s a first-impression video.

Barcamp in Klagenfurt: My bags are packed

During the second weekend of February, local geeks and international guests meet in Klagenfurt for Austria’s first barcamp of the season.

Weekly Blogistan Round-Up no. 48/2008

There’s a new WordPress version, Mr. Icahn has increased his Yahoo shares and a young filmmaker animates the free flow of sub-conscious thoughts. In other words: just an ordinary week in the Blogistan.

Pictures from Barcamp Vienna

Last weekend the Austrian (and Bratislava) net scene met at HP headquarters Vienna to celebrate barcamp 2008.

BLF take over Big G"> monochrom and the BLF take over Big G

Austrian art group monochrom recently joined forces with the BLF (Billboard Liberation Front). Their Target: the Google Campus. Their mission: to set up a critical installation called “the great firewall of China”. It’s art, so no one went to jail — the BLF knows the US law system like their vest pocket. What neither the monos nor the BLF knew though was that their action took place just on the day of a Google shareholder meeting — great coincidences still do occur in our wonder-less age! ‘njoy the vid:
