Stephen Elop is the pres­i­dent of Microsoft’s Busi­ness Divi­sion — nat­u­rally, he’s more inter­ested in busi­ness inno­va­tion than in shiny cus­tomer gad­gets. In this 6 minute inter­view, Elop talks about the deep-rooted change com­pa­nies cur­rently face as the under­ly­ing ques­tion “how do we deal with this vast amount of infor­ma­tion in an effi­cient way?” is an ongoin project:

Look­ing back on the mid-nineties, this inter­view reminds me of all the great “first-generation” promises: geo­graph­i­cally dis­trib­uted work­groups, a focus on inter­nal knowl­edge man­age­ment… some of it has come true, but I guess now is the time that col­lab­o­ra­tive busi­ness tech­nolo­gies are hit­ting the mainstream.
